Welcome to Kindergarten
Mrs. Nord and Mrs. Ryan's Class
November was full of excitement! We were getting ready for Thanksgiving and giving thanks to God for all of the wonderful gifts He continues to bless us with each day. Thank you for the gift of your children and for sharing them with us.
In ELA: We have learned the following sight words: I, like, eat, the, we, and, see, go, was, her, down, an, as, at, can, she, to, me, can, is, a, they, friend. Please practice the sight words located on the word ring. We know that verbs name an action and adjectives are used to describe a noun! We are also practicing our comprehension skills and comparing and contrasting. We read several stories, finished Unit 3 and had our third reading assessment. This week we began Unit 4- Writers Tell Many Stories. We are also moving along with our Wilson FUNdations and continue to practice recognizing, writing, and making the sounds for each of the letters we have learned.
In Math: We are almost finished Chapter 4- Numbers 0 to 10 . This includes comparing groups- as many as, more, fewer, most, fewest, and equalizing sets. Students are now able to identify, write, and count from 0-10. We also learned ordinal numbers from first to tenth. Next up will be numbers to 31.
In Religion: We continue to practice the Sign of the Cross, Hail Mary and Our Father. We are learning how God made us. He loves us and made each of us special and unique!
We are so thankful for all of your children🧡🤎
