Happy Thanksgiving

 Welcome to Kindergarten

Mrs. Nord and Mrs. Ryan's Class

We are so THANKFUL for this amazing crew!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of our wonderful families!

Happy November Birthday to our favorite twins: Mikey and Maddie!!!

Many thanks to everyone who donated items to our food drive. The response was quite impressive! As you know, whoever had the most items in their box had to wear a turkey costume. The kids were able to place the items in the box of their choice:
Now that is what I call loyalty!!👍

Hmm...guess who ended up wearing the turkey costume👀

Classroom news:
In ELA: We have learned the following sight words: I, like, the, and, see, we, a, to, me, can, come, play, with, my, not, now. Please practice the sight words located on the word ring.  We met Mr. N who has a "noisy nose." We read the stories Storm is Coming and Snow about weather and how animals respond to the weather. We also talked about how the weather changes throughout the different seasons. We learned about verbs and how they name an action.

In Math: We started Chapter 4- one to one correspondence, comparing groups that have more, fewer, most and fewest.  Now we are practicing our numerals 0-10.

In Religion: We are on Chapter 10 and have discussed how our senses help us discover God's World. We continue to practice the Our Father and the Hail Mary. Next we will learn about Advent.

We have been learning about the four seasons and months of the year. We are also learning about the First Thanksgiving. We have read many stories about Thanksgiving and turkeys. We created our own turkeys using leaves as feathers.

We had a great time "Walking with the Principal" and showing our support for JDRF🙌

Please practice the sight words located on the word ring.  We had a week of review and then short a review. We learned about the different seasons and the months of the year. They each picked their favorite season and drew an activity that they like to do do in that season. Each child read their sentence and shared what activity they like to do! We read the stories Seasons and Jump Into January. We learned about compare and contrast as well as parts of a sentence.
