 Welcome to Kindergarten!

We couldn't be more proud to be recognized as a Blue Ribbon School! Last week we watched the announcement live and cheered as we heard St. Katharine of Siena School in Wayne!

In ELA we continue to practice ending sounds and phonemic blends and the letter Nn. We are practicing the following sight words: I, like, see, the, and, we, a, to, me, can, come, play, with, at, you, now, not. Some of the skills we learned include nouns, adjectives, verbs, story structure, sentence structure, and conclusions.

In math we started our chapter on numbers. After practicing as many as, more, and fewer, we have moved on to numbers 0-5 and ordinal numbers 1st through fifth.

We learned how God gave us our senses so we can explore God's world.

We have been reading in our Readers and wearing our witch fingers to help us track the print. We are mastering our sight words and practicing CVC words.

When we use the iPads the children have enjoyed going on Starfall It is a great way to reinforce letter recognition and sounds. There are also pattern games to play, numbers, and word families. We have also practiced logging on to Seesaw and completing assigned activities on there. Pretty soon we will be experts!

Our Star Student of the week was Scarlett Kunda! Did you know that Scarlett wants to be a Ballerina when she grows up or that her favorite place to visit is Bermuda?! Great job on your poster Scarlett!

We wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful to be in the classroom with your children each day and thankful to have all of our wonderful families as part of our school community. Enjoy the holiday break with your families!

Your little turkeys have a message for you:

Many thanks to Mrs. Orr for our turkey craft as well as Mrs. Grimmig and Mrs. Brennan for our delicious cookie and ice cream treats!
