Welcome to Kindergarten!
We are finishing our ninth week of Kindergarten! We couldn't be more proud of our amazing students. They are working hard and learning so much. They should be so proud of their progress reports. I know we are:) We continue to practice the following sight words: I, like, see, the, and, we, a, to, me, can, come, play, with, at, you. Some of the skills we learned include nouns, adjectives, story structure and next we will learn about sentence structure.
In math we started our chapter on numbers. We started practicing as many as, more, and fewer. We will then practice numerals and counting.
We learned how God made each of us special and how God loves us so much! We are also practicing the months of the year and the four seasons.
We our excited to give thanks this Thanksgiving and have decorated our classroom with many Thanksgiving items. Our turkeys are hoping you will chose pizza, mac n cheese, or ice cream cream for dinner on the 26th!
Marie Grimmig received the Peacemaker Award after mass on Tuesday. Congratulations Marie!!
We learned about voting last week and had a class vote. We decided to vote for our favorite class snack. Which snack would win?? Crackers, fruit, or cookies? After filling out our voter registration cards and heading to the polls, the winner (by a landslide) was....cookies!!!
When we use the iPads the children have enjoyed going on Starfall It is a great way to reinforce letter recognition and sounds. There are also pattern games to play, numbers, and word families. We have also practiced logging on to Seesaw and completing assigned activities on there. Pretty soon we will be experts!
Our Star Student of the week was Catie Grabuski! Did you know that Catie wants to be a teacher (8th grade) when she grows up or that her favorite place to visit is the beach?! Great job on your poster Catie!
