Welcome to Kindergarten
Mrs. Nord and Mrs. Ryan's Class
Our first week of school fun!
Mrs. Ryan and I put our "Ready Confetti" under our pillows on Sunday night to help ease our first day jitters!
The SKS Wildcat was out front greeting our Kindergarteners and welcoming them to their 1st day of school!
1st Day of School Pics💙
We have had the best first week of school! Many thanks for sending in the paperwork and supplies. We met all of our "specials" teachers and met our 6th grade buddies. The kids are adjusting to their new routines and are already exceeding our expectations. Thank you for sharing them with us!
In ELA: We have learned two new sight words: I, like. Please practice the sight words located on the word ring. We also learned that nouns name people, places, things, and animals. This week we used words that name people: ex Mom, Dad, girl, boy, cousin, Grandparent etc. We read several stories including What Makes a Family , Our Class is a Family, and How Do Dinosaurs Go To School? Our first Letter Person will make an appearance next week!
In Math: We are learning to differentiate between items that are the same, alike, and different as well as sorting. They also sorted by color and shape. We are practicing our listening and following directions skills as well.
In Religion: We celebrated Mary's Birthday and started discussing the wonderful world that God has given us. God loves us so much that he give us our wonderful world. Ask your child what some of the gifts are that God gave us. We are practicing making the sign of the cross as well as learning the Hail Mary.
We met our 6th grade buddies today and completed an activity from the book Encanto with them. They completed a t-shirt activity that included some of their favorites. The tees will be hung on the bulletin board outside the library.
