Merry Merry and Happy New Year!

                             Welcome to Kindergarten

Mrs. Nord and Mrs. Ryan's Class

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

One of our favorite stories in December was Santa's Stuck.
We enjoyed brainstorming ways to help Santa out of the chimney!

We had many ideas of what we might like for Christmas and hope that Santa might deliver!

In ELA: We have learned the following sight words: I, like, the, and, see, a, we, to, me, can, come, play, my, you, at, with, now, what, for, are, be, big, how, is, it, of, many. Please practice the sight words located on the word ring.  We know that what a complete sentence needs including beginning with an uppercase letter and ending with punctuation. We are also practicing cause and effect as well as sequence of events. We read several stories including Turtle Splash!  and What a Beautiful Sky! We finished Unit 3 and had our third reading assessment. We also finishe the first volume of our reading book and moved onto volume two. We are also moving along with our Wilson FUNdations and continue to practice recognizing, writing, and making the sounds for each of the letters we have learned.

In Math: We completed Chapter 4- Numbers 1-10, identifying and making groups with as many as, more, or fewer; ordinals first thru tenth and using a map.  We completed the chapter 4 assessment and started Chapter 5 Numbers to 31. We will identify, show, and draw groups of 11 to 31, compare and order numbers, estimate groups of 10, 20, and 30 and problem solve.

In Religion: We continue to practice the Sign of the Cross, Hail Mary and now the Our Father. We learned about the church season of Advent and Christmas. Each week we lit the Advent wreath and prayed for our loved ones. We loved watching the SKS Tableau and participating in our own Christmas concert.

We made Christmas cards for our friends at Rosemont Care and are so appreciative of all of the items sent in to gift them. They were overwhelmed with your generosity and kindness. Thank you again!!

Santa took time out of his busy schedule to visit us! Thanks Santa 🎅
