Please practice the sight words located on the word ring.  We met Mr. H who has "happy hair", Ms. K who has a "kaboom kick", Ms. L has the "longest laugh," and Ms. W who has "wonderful words." We read the stories Chameleon, Chameleon; Pie in the Sky and Kitten's First Full Moon. We continue to discuss story structure in our  stories...characters, setting, problem, and solution. We also practiced sentences that ask a question and using a question mark as well as sentences that exclaim and use an exclamation point. We learned about singular and plural nouns and when we should add an "s" to a noun that names more than one.  We continue to practice writing simple sentences using sight words and cvc words!

In Math: We completed Chapter 9- Money and loved the Penny, Nickel, Dime, Quarter song! They did an excellent job counting on from the coin worth the most. Assessments will be sent home next week. Now we are moving on to Chapter 10- Time. This chapter will include the calendar, what takes more or less time, seasons, time to the hour (both analog and digital clocks), events that happen during the day/night, morning, afternoon, and night.

In Religion: We are learning all about Lent, a time for us to grow and change. We show our love for God and others. During this special time of Lent we pray, try to act as Jesus did, and find ways to care for others. We are also learning abut the Three Days and how Jesus gave his whole life for us.
