So long September

                               Welcome to Kindergarten

Mrs. Nord and Mrs. Ryan's Class

So long September!

We can't believe we already finished the first month of school! The students are adjusting and following our daily routines. They are enjoying all of the learning that is taking place and love being with all of their new friends. Kindergarten rules!

Here we are showing off our silly socks!

Mr. Tosti has been visiting our classroom to learn everyone's name. He has been working hard and passed the Kindergarten name test!

In ELA: We have learned the following sight words: I, like, the, and, see. Please practice the sight words located on the word ring. We also learned that nouns name people, places, things, and animals. We know that verbs name an action! We read several stories including The Handiest Things in the World and Everybody Works. We met two Letter People: Mr. M has a munching mouth and Ms. S has super socks!

In Math: We completed Chapter One on sorting and took our first Math Assessment. We used our "offices" so we could keep our work to ourselves and stay focused;) Now we are moving on to Chapter 2: Geometry and Patterns. First we are learning about 3D shapes- sphere, cube, cylinder, cone, and rectangular prism.

Taking our Math Assessments in our "offices."

In Religion: We are practicing how to make the Sign of the Cross and praying the Hail Mary. We also learned how God gave us the gift of light and water. We also attended our first virtual school mass. See the pictures below:

We have been learning about the season of fall and exploring the lifecycle of the apple.

Enjoy our brain break!

Looking 👀 Ahead...

Pumpkin Patch trip on Wednesday! Please have your child wear their gym uniform. If the ground is muddy, we suggest wearing boots and bringing sneakers to change into. We plan to arrive at 9:45 and start the hayride right away. So any parents meeting us there- please give yourselves enough time to arrive, park, and pay before the hayride begins!

On Monday, October 11, winter uniforms begin.

Thursday, October 14, we will have school pictures in our winter uniforms. Picture order forms will be sent home next week.
