Week of October 26th

Welcome to Kindergarten!
Mrs. Nord and Mrs. Maher

Thank you so much for granting our Amazon wishes!! We love our awesome new stools and new people for the dollhouse! Your generosity is so appreciated. We have the best parents!πŸ’™πŸ€

The new stools are a perfect fit for our table!

So excited for the new people in our dollhouse:)

Halloween is fast approaching and our classroom is buzzing with excitement! We have enjoyed the story Room On The Broom and created our own writing and drawings below. We also loved the catchy little song Witches' Brew by Hap Palmer and decided what we would add to our own witches' brew. More pictures of our witches' brew below!

Stir, stir, one, two.
What is in the witch's brew?

Our First Star Student: Mary DeGiorgi⭐
Did you know that Mary's favorite thing to do is play with her friends or that her one wish is for a unicorn?! We loved learning all about Mary!

Mary visiting 1st grade (and her brother John's class) during her week.

ELA: We continue to practice printing our letters, especially the lowercase letters. We listened to poems and stories both fiction and non-fiction. The letters we covered in FUNdations are b, f, t, m, n, i, u, o, g, a, d, & s (recognizing it,  picture, and sound) "b, bat, /b/"  and "f, fun, /f/". We practiced identifing the main idea in a story and retelling key details.  We are in Unit 2  week 3: Every story has characters. The letter this week is Nn and our sight words are "was, her, & down."

Math: Chapter 4: Numbers 0-10 including comparing sets- more, less, as many as. Working on numbers 1-5, counting order, and ordinals 1st-5th

Religion: We continue to practice making the sign of the cross as well as saying daily prayers. Chapter 6- God made People. The kindergarten loved the First Grade Saints Presentation last Friday. They dressed up as their favorite saint and shared what they have learned about them.

Science and Social Studies:  The lifecycle of a pumpkin and group work with pumpkin experiments!

Mary B. lost her 1st tooth at school!🦷
